This page explains how Lucky Panda ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Crosshair Overlay application ("App"), and the terms under which you may use it. It is divided into two parts: a Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use & Disclaimers. By installing or using the App, you agree to both. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Crosshair Overlay is a Windows application that lets you design custom crosshairs and image overlays and display them on screen through Xbox Game Bar, a built-in feature of Windows provided by Microsoft. The App includes an editor for building crosshairs, importing your own images, and assigning hotkeys, plus a Game Bar widget that draws the chosen overlay. All of your crosshairs, images, and settings are stored locally on your device. The App does not upload your data to our servers, and we do not operate any account system.
The App is designed to be simple and privacy-friendly. Specifically:
Your crosshair designs, imported images (including custom "meme" overlays), hotkey bindings, and application settings are stored in local files on your computer. Any image you import is kept on your device and is read by the Game Bar widget locally so it can be displayed on screen. This information never leaves your device through the App. You can delete your saved crosshairs, images, or the App at any time to remove it.
The on-screen overlay is rendered as an Xbox Game Bar widget. Xbox Game Bar is a Microsoft component built into Windows, and your use of it is also governed by Microsoft's terms and privacy policy. Crosshair Overlay only provides the widget; it does not change how Game Bar itself collects or handles data.
If you obtained the App through the Microsoft Store:
For more information on how Microsoft handles your data, please refer to Microsoft's own privacy policy.
If you contact us for support (for example, by email or phone), we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name or display name, your email address and/or phone number, and details about your issue, including screenshots or log snippets you voluntarily send. We use this information solely to respond to your request, troubleshoot technical issues, and improve the App. We do not sell or rent this information to third parties.
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Because the App does not collect or store personal data by default, there is no ongoing data retention associated with normal use. Any information you send us directly for support may be retained only as long as necessary to resolve your issue. If you have contacted us and provided personal information, you may request access to it, correction of it, or deletion of your support records where legally permissible, by using the contact details below.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for its intended purpose. You agree not to misuse the App, including by attempting to reverse engineer it (except where permitted by law), redistributing it as your own, or using it for any unlawful purpose.
Crosshair Overlay lets you import your own images to use as crosshairs and "meme" overlays. You are solely responsible for any image or content you import, create, or display using the App. You agree not to use the App to import or display content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, obscene, or otherwise objectionable, or that you do not have the right to use.
Because imported content is stored and displayed locally on your own device and is never uploaded to or hosted by us, we do not review, moderate, host, or control it, and we are not responsible or liable for any content you choose to import, create, or display. Any consequences arising from such content are your responsibility.
Crosshair Overlay displays its overlay through Microsoft's Xbox Game Bar, the standard overlay framework built into Windows. The App does not inject code into games, read or write game memory, modify game files, or interfere with any game process in any way. It simply draws an image on screen, the same way other Game Bar widgets and common overlays (such as Discord or the Xbox overlay) do.
We have tested Crosshair Overlay with the FPS titles Marvel Rivals and Overwatch, and in our testing both came back clean with no anti-cheat flags. We built the App to operate the legitimate, Microsoft-supported way precisely to avoid any interference with games.
However, anti-cheat systems differ from game to game, are controlled by the game publishers, and change over time. Some games restrict or prohibit any third-party on-screen overlay in their own terms of service, and an anti-cheat system could, in principle, flag overlays regardless of how legitimately they are built. We therefore make no guarantee that Crosshair Overlay is permitted by, or will not be flagged by, any particular game or its anti-cheat system.
You use Crosshair Overlay entirely at your own risk. You are responsible for reading and complying with the terms of service, rules, and anti-cheat policies of every game you play. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lucky Panda is not responsible or liable for any warning, account suspension, ban, match penalty, loss of progress, loss of purchases, or any other consequence that may result from your use of the App with any game or service. If you are unsure whether a game permits overlays, do not use the App with that game.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, compatibility with any game, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with your hardware, software, or any specific game.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Lucky Panda be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, accounts, progress, purchases, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App — including, without limitation, any consequences related to game anti-cheat systems or to content you import or display. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App, if any.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lucky Panda from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App, your violation of these terms, your violation of any game's rules or terms of service, or any content you import, create, or display.
We may update this Privacy Policy & Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes means you accept the revised version.
